Ahmed Al-Omari is a process engineer at Brown and Caldwell. He has worked on a number of cutting edge projects associated with shortcut nitrogen removal. In the past few years he was involved in collaborative research projects with DC Water and HRSD involving the utilization of partial denitrification-anammox concept as an alternative to partial nitrfication-anammox as an efficient but more reliable option.



He was responsible for the development and testing of a new modification to the current ASM models, which was used to define and evaluate the current understanding of the mechanisms of partial denitrification.
